Michael Vinyard | Michael grew up in Carmel, Indiana and graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Chemistry in the Spring of 2016. At Iowa, under the guidance of Hien Nguyen he studied the enantioselective synthesis of α-fluoromethylated amines using Rhodium-Catalyzed DYKAT of racemic allylic trichloroacetimidates. He also competed for the University of Iowa Men's Swimming and Diving Team.
Michael is a second-year graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. He joined the Liau Lab in December of 2016. He is interested in the epigenetic mechanisms of cancer. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and reading.
